Fionnlocha Wild Nature Sanctuary is an artist-led regenerative Land, People and Culture Project that will be based on a beautiful seven acre piece of land in the Heart of Ireland, near Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, Ireland. The land is already amazingly rich in biodiversity, with a lake at one end, and a river running alongside that feeds into the River Shannon, which leads through the heartlands and out to the sea. This is the perfect location for an Irish Land Regeneration project such as ours, with the potential to buy more land around the lake initially and link up with nature corridors through the whole country and beyond eventually.
The longer term, meta-vision is to become a charity and place the land in a Trust. This would potentially link up with projects such as the
Weald to Waves project from Knepp to Newhaven. Lex is already the designer for a community garden and seed bank project at the end of this 100 mile wildlife project in Newhaven.
